Air Dryer

Excessive liquid and condensing water in the air stream can be extremely damaging to equipment, tools and processes that rely on compressed air. The water can cause corrosion in the tanks and pipes, wash out lubricating oils from pneumatic tools, emulsify with the grease used in cylinders, clump blasting media and fog painted surfaces. Therefore, it is desirable to remove condensing moisture from the air stream to prevent damage to equipment, air tools and processes. The function of removing this unwanted water is the purview of the compressed air dryer.

PT. Mitraplus Filter Indonesia offers a full range of very efficient (low dew point) and environmentally friendly compressed air dryers, such as refrigerant dryers and desiccant air dryers.

Desiccant dryers, sometimes referred to as adsorption dryers are designed to remove moisture by passing air over a porous desiccant material, which absorbs and retains the water vapour molecules. These dryers tend to get and hold the water so they are less effective as a first stage dryer as the media quickly becomes saturated. Desiccant dryers are best applied in a second stage or polishing role, they are usually used down-stream from a refrigerated dryer. When applied as a second stage dryer, they can easily and reliably produce dew points in the sub zero range. The term pressure dew point refers to the temperature at which water condensation will occur. Our range of pressure dew points specified for an adsorption dryer are from -20°C, -40°C and -70°C which prevent corrosion and inhibit the growth of microorganisms.


3 types of desiccant dryers PT. Mitraplus Filter Indonesia are heated desiccant, heatless desiccant and modular desiccant.

Refrigerant dryers are the most common type of drier technology used by many industries. M-PLUS’s air dryer removes water from the air stream by changing the temperature air dew point to approximately 3 °C to prevent the risk of freezing the separated water then condensing out the moisture in a controlled environment. Once the compressed air is cooled and water is removed, the air is reheated to around room temperature to ensure no more vapour forms within the pipe system.

There are 2 types of refrigerant dryers from PT. Mitraplus Filter Indonesia: high temperature refrigerant and tropical condition refrigerant.

M-PLUS Activated Alumina is suitable as a de-fluorinating agent of drinking water, a de-acidifying-regenerator of transformer oil, and as a dryer, purifying agent, catalyst and carrier in chemical fertilizer, petrochemical industries. As an effective concentrated drier for trace moisture, its drying capability could reach to dew-point below -70 under certain operating and recovering conditions. Widely used for drying in electronic, textile and oxidizing industry, also as an adsorbent in air-grading industry (Dew point below -55).
